She loves sharing her knowledge of music with students and helping them realize how accessible and enjoyable creating and performing can be. Catie is especially fond of unique instruments and is always excited to encourage students to explore different ways of making music.

Favorite Instrument: Violin, but I also love unique instruments like the dulcimer and bodhran.
Advice for Parents: Encourage your child to practice, but also remind them to have grace for themselves as they learn. Celebrate the small victories along the way!

Favorite Thing About Playing Music: I love expressing feelings and emotions through music and telling a compelling story. There are so many ways to enjoy and create music.
Inspiration for Teaching: I love sharing something I’m passionate about with others. If I can help someone feel that music is accessible and they can create and enjoy it, then I’m happy!
If an Animal Could Play Your Instrument: I think monkeys and apes would make great pianists, and maybe octopuses could play stringed instruments!
